so we went to the woods

and there was not a bit of internet.

so first we drove for 30 hours straight... through chicago and all. pouring rain almost the entire way. Our destination was the BADLANDS! Upon entry the groundskeepers told us that there was a free campground. The only catch was the bison wandering around. We took it (and I got to drive to it) and a bison was 25 feet away from our tent. A photo shoot was had. Nightfall came while we were out exploring and gettin stoned ... can't remember if i smoked. I remember worrying about the dark because i didn't want to walk into our bison buddy who went exploring as well. We mingled a bit back by the tents. It was a few weeks too early for camping season so it was mostly creepers there. Cut to... I lay in my tent with my boyfriend, afraid of all the noises outside. he kept saying, "it's ok, it's ok, it's animals." I didn't want to say it because that made it real but finally i couldn't keep it in any longer. "It's the people I'm afraid of.." so he pet me until i started to fall asleep. As I closed my eyes for, what i thought was, the last time that night our tent started unzipping. My heart started beating fast. I didn't know what to do so I rolled over and grabbed onto my boyfriends arm. Just like a scary movie I thought, perfect ƒor day one. We heard our friend Daniel say that there was a bison buckin around and running and knocking over a picnic table and that he was going to the car. I was really done ƒor now. It seemed obvious to me that the bison wanted to capture my soul and would stop at nothing to do so, did i want to put my friends and loved ones at risk by joining them in the car? Oh yes. I stuck my head out of the tent. It was dark. Wind enveloped me and sent my dirty hair flying all over the place. The large black moving figure was unmistakably our very own bison buddy having a hissy fit, like when harry sees Sirius in his dog form in the dead of night in The Prisoner of Azkaban. how would i ever make it to the car? Daniel started walking away leaving me with Alex. Why he would so that to me I do not know.. I panicked...in addition to my previous panic/paranoia. Semi shoe-less we followed. Bob was ålready in the car when we arrived. Daniel came back to save us! Unfortunately, Daniel forgot his car keys so we sat there in the dark, shivering for the remainder of the night. The next day we woke up to find out a storm was coming. Our car wouldn't make it through the dirt roads of thet got wet... All the other campers were gone. We got out of there as fast as we could.

Our next destination was Boulder, Co. Along the way we met the jolly green giant, the cowboy town, bought a ton of fire works that we never used. The guy who owned the store casually told me that he shoots two bison every morning, slits their throats to bleed them dry and then throws them in his pick up. holy crap. I was astonished and just stared at him.

Next was JEMEZ, NEW MEXICO! The best place in the world. We picked a random town in New Mexico and went there to look for hot springs. First we paid 15 dollars to go to some lady's backyard where she had a hotspring. Met some helpful people there though. After that we went to los ojos which is a saloon type of place and as we walked in everyone stopped talking and stared at us. noboday drank or played pool... nothing.
