Bday Bday Bday!

I'm offically 21. Goodbye fake ID, I gave you away! Passing on your fake, or your real id once you turn 21 is a necessary rite of passage. At first I was devastated because I couldn't think of anyone that could use mine but once I found that special girl it felt great! I'm slightly depressed about turning 21 though, now there's no turning back. Luckily I cherished my younger years. They were spent living outside the law for as long as I could and getting away with as much ridiculous bs as I could. Time well spent I'd say. I had my birthday party at PARTY EXPO which was made awesome byyyy Matt Jones who made the whole thing possible and then of course the bands! In case you missed it they were Viennagram, Big Gunz, and Baby Brainwaves, with a private show by Slamdown Birthday Cake. If you haven't been to party eXpo yet, or you haven't seen one of the bands that played at my bday then you gotta fix that asap.
What is Professionalism?
People are so quick to label others and/or their actions as unprofessional. In my opinion professionalism rarely goes much further than being prepared, being on time, and not doing anything offensive at your workplace. However, I bet the people at Drom, a bar on the lower east side, would disagree. Bombshell Clothing collaborated with a hat designer, Edith & Ivy to do a fashion show there on April 10th and it was one of the worst experiences ever. I was one of the models there. The place was going to make a ton of money of off us, charging $30 dollars at the door, but none of us were getting paid. You'd think they'd be nice to the people who donated their time, but you'd be wrong. They yelled at us continuously and wanted to kick all of us out. Basically, they threw little baby tantrums and tried to say we're unprofessional when we decided to defend ourselves by leaving. The long and the short of it is that it worked out for both parties because we stayed and did the show and in return you can check out bombshell clothing in time out ny!!!

Nudey Art
Yesterday my darling Lara and I had a little photo sess at my house. It was a real mess (referring to my apt) but the pictures came out pretty good. I don't know if I've mentioned this yet but I've started a small company called dinobear. So far I only have one product which is garment dress clips. I don't know if any of you remember those pretty chain things that people used to wear on the back of their dresses or vests to adjust the fit in the 50's but I feel that there's a total lack of them these days and us gals just need an alternative to belts sometimes. I used to find myself wearing 3 belts at a time wishing there was another. I mean... I need to hold up my jeans, do something to make my shirt that a million people in this world have seem more me and keep my coat closed! Besides who says all the cinch clips have to look fancy shmancy with chains and pearls? Anyhow, we shot some of these clips and I can't wait to put up some pix from the shoot. I'm also currently in the process of setting up my online shop so check out www.dinobear.etsy.com periodically for updates. I also plan on selling through a few stores in NYC by the middle of summer and will put up a list as soon as that happens but for now I give you this picture!

I've been getting new ideas as far as other ways to put these babies to use. The possibilities are endless and on

Gotta luv NY
Dan, my bf, and I were supposed to go to Providence to see Jonathan Richman play at the Firehouse 13 on Friday but he had to work late so we missed the bus and it sucked. However, Saturday was insane! We met up with our girl, Marie, and went to The Lake on Johnson Ave in Bushwick to see a couple of our friends bands play. The venue wasn't small but the rooms individually were pretty tight and there were a lot of people in there so we basically stood on the bleacher things against the walls and let everyone else get down and dirty. I really hate going to shows in the winter cause you have to deal with your jacket taking up mad space and if you put it down you sure as hell are never gonna see it again unless you get the band to put it on stage behind them or something so it's a real pain in the ass. I also decided not to pre-game that night because drinks were gonna be so cheap but I hadn't expected such a crowd. Not only was it the biggest hassle ever to get out to the bar... wait for a fuckin drink and have to get back to your friends but the beer seemed to contain little or no alcohol at all! After chugging countless beers I was unfazed, good thing you can always count on big gunz to put on a good show regardless of how trashed you are. The other reason that I dragged my ass out to this show was THE MIDNIGHT WRESTLE! Girls wrestling in olive oil and tofu was delivered as promised but it fuckin sucked. The best match was the one I could barely see because of all the people i had to shove through to make it to a higher place so I would be able to see over the tall ass dudes. There were some nip slips but the matches all consisted of this one girl sitting on top of the other girls and 2 of them tap kissed at the end. I wouldn't say it was a total waste because how often do you see a thing like that?
